Wow, Soudam isn’t a ship I’ve had a lot of practice with, so bear with me !
So, at first it’s not that great. There is the whole ‘Sonia’ problem for a while, because Souda can’t understand why their local princess would rather spend time with Gundham’s hamsters talking about magic and stuff, than with him.
Gundham makes it clear that while he respects Sonia’s spiritual strenght, she is merely an ally of his, and nothing more, for he gave his heart to darkness, anyway. Souda relaxes a little, and even try to compensate his bitter behaviour by making efforts to including him in the group. They are still pretty awkward around each others, and Souda’s sudden ‘friendship’ for Gundham is not subtle, but that’s a start.
They really bond a little more after a few drinks. They are both lightweights, or they really wanted an occasion to talk anyway. Souda is surprised to hear how complicated Gundham’s childhood was an replies with a little indisight into his own past. They both tiptoe around the subject because, wow, that’s weird, right ?
Souda always craft stuff for his friends, and he eventually crafts one for Gundham : so kind of electronic playground for his hamsters. Gundham is absolutely pleased and all over the place about it, and Souda is like ‘oh, man, what’s the big deal’, when he spent ten hours on it, so it’s kind of big deal.
As time goes by, Souda speaks a lot less about his fantasy about Sonia, and starts talking about Gundham more, anytime something reminds him of him, and everyone is noticing what is going on, and Hinata and Kuzuryuu are like ‘huuuum’, and Sonia and Mahiru are like ‘huuum’.
They are both idiots, so they need a couple more weeks to figure it out, but what do you want.
