To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer’s head. There’s also Rick’s nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they’re not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick & Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn’t appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick’s existential catchphrase “Wubba Lubba Dub Dub,” which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev’s Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I’m smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon’s genius wit unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools.. how I pity them. 😂

I swear I’m not just playing devil’s advocate but what about the pedophiles who acknowledge that their attraction to children is wrong and go to therapists to do something about it?
this isnt a bad thing to ask at all! But id like to point out that my opinions towards pedophiles is almost entirely based off the current pedophile comunity on tumblr.
many of them claim to see therapists and honestly? i believe that. but that doesnt mean theyre doing anything to actually prevent their thoughts.
they still join groups that claim pedophilia is ok, they still look at drawn cp, they still talk to children, they still write about how cute the kid at the bus station is. shit like that. they arent actually taking any steps to seperate their attraction from kids. theyre just finding support for it. which is NOT the right way to handle it.
pedophilia isnt something thats ok or needs support and many pedophiles dont accept that and continue their little community.
pedophiles can harm without actually raping someone, and this normalization of pedophilia IS harmful.
HOWEVER, i do acknowledge that there are outliers and that there are people who DO take the steps to try and stop their attraction and those people are NOT grouped in with the pedophiles i wish dead.

Anti-hero: A character who does bad things to achieve a good goal.
Anti-villain: A character who does bad things to achieve a goal that they believe to be good, but is actually messed up.
Just plain annoying: A character who does bad things to achieve a bad goal but has one throwaway line about a hard childhood that is expected to put them into one of the aforementioned categories when in reality it just makes them annoying
